J&K/Poonch (The Stellar News), Anil Bhardwaj: Continuing its efforts to eradicate the menace of drugs from the society,Poonch Police along with CRPF today carried out destruction of wild cannabis in Gursai and Mendhar area of Poonch district. A team of cops from Police Station Gursai and mendhar led by SHOs and concerned CRPF officer carried out destruction drive of wild cannabis in different area of Mendhar Subdivision.
So far 8 kanals of land has been cleared from wild cannabis and this drive is part of an ongoing effort under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Drugs (NDPS) Act to combat the illegal cultivation of cannabis and poppy and Such drives will continue in future also till the menace is completely rooted out from the society. The destruction drive is carried out under the overall supervision of SSP Poonch Sh Vinay Sharma.
