Vigilance nabbed head constable taking bribe Rs. 20,000

Chandigarh: State Vigilance Bureau, nabbed head constable Nishan Singh (No. 350/Tarntaran) red handed while accepting bribe of Rs 20,000 on Wednesday.

An official spokesperson of the Vigilance Bureau said that, HC Nishan Singh posted at City Police Station Tarntaran was nabbed red handed on the complaint of Pawan Kumar of Jagdambey Colony, Majitha Road, Amritsar. The Complainant has approached the VB and alleged that the accused police official was demanding Rs 20,000 to solve his police case.

After verifying his information, the Vigilance team laid a trap and the accused HC was arrested on the spot taking bribe of Rs. 20,000 from the complainant in the presence of two official witnesses. He informed that a case under different sections of prevention of corruption act has been registered against him at VB police station Amritsar and further investigation was under progress.
