Gunner Arvinder Kumar, who died in an encounter with terrorists in Shopian district of Jammu and Kashmir. He was a resident of Sariana village, Mukerian. He has been cremated in his native village on Tuesday.

He was recruited in the 15 Medium regiment of Indian Army on June 26, 2012. He was now posted as gunner in the 34-RR (Rashtriya Rifles) unit. He is survived by his parents, four elder sisters and a brother. When the body of the martyr reached the village, the youth took out a motorcycle rally holding the Tricolour.
