Punjab Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh on Sunday condoled the sad demise of Sarup Singh (93), the father of local Bureau Chief of Ajit Group of Newspapers Herkawaljit Singh, who passed away here this evening after a brief illness at his residence. He is survived by his wife, three sons and two daughters. Notably, S Sarup Singh was an eminent scholar of Persian, Urdu & Punjabi and a poet.
Expressing his heartfelt sympathies with the bereaved family in this hour of grief, Captain Amarinder Singh prayed to the Almighty to give courage to the family members to bear this irreparable loss and grant eternal peace to the departed soul. Meanwhile, Chief Minister’s Media Advisor Raveen Thukral also mourned the death of Sarup Singh. The cremation will take place on Monday at 12.30 pm at Sector 25 cremation ground, according to the family sources.
