CM visits Tutikandi Balika Ashram

Himachal (The Stellar News): Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur along with his wife Dr. Sadhna Thakur visited Balika Ashram, Tutikandi, Shimla today and distributed sweets and fire crackers among children of the Ashram on the occasion of Diwali. Wishing a happy Diwali to the children, Chief Minister said that this year Diwali is being celebrated in changed circumstances of Covid-19 pandemic. So the celebrations should also be done in different way without creating pollution. The Children of the Ashram also presented the candles prepared by them to the Chief Minister.

Jai Ram Thakur appreciated the efforts of the children in making the candles and said that the children of the Ashram have realized the clarion call of the Prime Minister Narendra Modi to be ‘Vocal for the Local’.

 He said that the Corona cases were increasing in the State and the Country. He urged to be cautious, as the vaccine for this virus is not yet available and said that “Jab Tak Dawai Nahi, Tab Tak Dhilai Nahi”. He also urged all to wear masks, keep social distancing and to avoid social gathering. Urban Development Minister Suresh Bhardwaj, Additional Deputy Commissioner Shimla Apoorv Devgan, Child Development Project Officer Mamta Paul, Superintendent of Ashram Narbada Sharma were also present on the occasion.
