Delhi (The Stellar News) Saksham Kalia: A big setback for Indian National Congress (INC) as Jitin Prasada, Senior leader of INC, eminent person in Rahul Gandhi’s circle and two time union minister during Dr Manmohan Singh Government changed his party to BJP. this happened when the Congress High Command was busy in resolving the complications among Punjab Congress leaders.
Jitin Prasada was the prominent and significant Brahmin face leader for congress which now switched to BJP and will be beneficial for BJP as they were facing problem for tempting Brahmin voters. Next year UP is going to face State Elections for which Jatin Prasada can prove one of the important leaders for winning elections.
“I started feeling that I was in a party surrounded by politics. I started feeling that I was not able to contribute or work for the people,” said Jitin Prasada, a saffron scarf indicating his status change.
“BJP is the only real political party. It’s the only national party. The rest are regional. BJP and (Prime Minister Narendra) Modi only ones that can meet the challenges the country is facing now,” he said, claiming he started thinking about the move 10 years ago (when he was a Union Minister).
“It’s sad that Jitin Prasada has left, he has held important posts,” said Congress spokesperson Supriya Srinate, questioning his decision to join a party “responsible for loss of lives during Covid”.
This is the second setback for the congress party in the form of Jatin Prasad as last year main leader of congress Jyotiraditya Scindia left the party and joined BJP. In 2019, Jatin Prasad was also suspicious to left the party, amid the rebel inside the Rajasthan Government.
