Kargil (The Stellar News): The 9th Muharram mourning procession in Kargil Ladakh took place with great devotion and fervor. During the procession Jamiat Ullama Isna Asharia Kargil (JUAIK)- Ladakh observed the juloos with participants from the adjacent areas of Kargil town. During the processions mourners were seen beating their chests and reciting lamentations in remembrance of the martyrs of Karbala. Mourners were offered water and other refreshments by different organizations to express their devotion. The Main 9th Muharram Sermon was delivered by President AJUIAK, Sheikh Nazir Mehdi Mohammadi, during which he threw light on the life of Hazrat Abass Alamdar, the brother of Imam Hussain, who is known for his sacrifices and his allegiance towards him. He requested the people to strictly follow the SOPs and Protocols issued by the Administration and thanked the people of the entire district for observing the Muharram congregations as per the SOPs and Protocols issued by the Administration.
During the sermon he has prayed for peace in the world and in Jammu, Kashmir and Ladakh. He also said that even after 14 centuries, Imam Husain’s memory is alive in the hearts and minds of Muslims. In the meantime, Al-Reza health care and research foundation organized a blood donation and medical camp at old taxi stand Kargil. About 80 persons registered as volunteer for blood donation and 15 people were bleed on spot. In history some army personals along with their commandant MH Kargil donated blood at the camp. The blood camp will be continued tomorrow on Ashura.
