J&K/Reasi(The Stellar News) Anil Bhardwaj:Indian Army organised a lecture on ‘BETI BACHAO- BETI PADHAO’ campaign at Talwara, Reasi view to celebrate “Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav’’. The lecture was conducted by an Army team which discussed about the status of female literacy in comparison with the male literacy in India, importance of gender equality and the contribution of Indian women in the development of our Nation.
Strong emphasis on mindset change was carried out through training sensitization, awareness raising and community mobilization. Women in India, have excelled in various fields like politics, sports, education, business, etc, by going through various struggle & sacrifice in life. Each having an inspiring story of their own. An educated and empowered woman is an asset to the society. The speaker also brought during the lecture, the various things faced by Indian women such as economic, education, health and other social issues. Various Government schemes initiated for upliftment of women were also explained to the audience. A Community Pledge was taken on women empowerment.
