J&K/Rajouri (The Stellar News), Anil Bhardwaj: Came to emergency in shock with injury to abdominal organs and chest. Patient immediately resuscitated in emergency by surgery department and anesthesia department and chest tubes put in both chest cavities in emergency. About one litre blood present in chest cavity. Patient still remained in shock and was put on triple support to maintain his BP. Then patient was shifted to Operation theatre and operated by emergency surgery team comprising Dr Mushtaq Choudhary, Dr Mudasir Khan, Dr Yassir Mehmood, Theatre Asstt Aamir and Iftkhar and anesthesia team comprising Dr Suhail, Dr salma and Dr Nahid and anesthesia technicians.
On surgery, about 2.5 litres of blood was present in abdomen and spleen was completely shattered with injury to liver. Spleen was taken out (splenectomy) and complete hemostasis achieved. After surgery, patient’s vitals became stable and he was shifted to surgery ICU where he is on ventillator at present and managed by the respective departments. All this while, patient recieved five units of blood. With the hard work put in by the teams under supervision of the heads of departments and Principal sir and Medical Superintendent, patient was revived and saved from a moribund situation.
