LTSU  to Skill 30000 youths in Punjab by 2025: Dr. Sandeep Singh Kaura

Hoshiarpur (The Stellar News), Report- Gurjit Sonu/Baljinder: Lamrin Tech Skill University Punjab is first of its kind state skill university incubated by IBM as Anchor Partner, TATA Technologies & Ansys as Industry Partners and RERT as academic Partner established under Govt of Punjab under state Act no of 22 of 2021 with the investment of 1630 crores. The university is focused on skilling the youth of Punjab to provide them gainful employment .The youth today is unemployable which leads in their migration to other countries for livelihood and influx of migrant labour from other states.

To achieve this objectives Lamrin Tech Skills University organized Industry meet in collaborations with Distt Industrial Centre , Distt Hoshiarpur, more than 30 leading industries were invited for deliberations regarding this Initiative Dr. Sandeep Singh Kaura  Chancellor, Lamrin Tech Skills University, Punjab welcomed the delegates from various industries of surrounding area and emphasized the need of integrated skill courses in lines with the  Govt of Punjab s vision to stop brain drain and provide employment opportunities in Punjab so that youths of Punjab might be placed in domestic jobs with in the state as to make industry ready professional work force. Dr Sandeep Kaura shared that LTSU has taken up the task of skilling and upskilling 30 thousands youths as per industry standards by 2025 and provide them with decent employment along with a career progression pathway. 

Students or work force who have skills but not certifications will be trained and LTSU will also provide NSQC programs for dropouts and invited the valuable inputs from various Industrial delegates participating in the session so that existing work force might be trained asper their requirement which will enhance the quality and offered them the opportunity to increase their production and efficiency. High level officials from industry, while deliberating on the agenda, emphasized the need of ready to work employees for different sectors.  Discussing further LTSU officials added that to fulfil the requirement of industry, LTSU is going to launch Industrial based courses /programs which will help the Industries to increase their work efficiency of work force presently working in the industries. Delegates from Industries appreciated the efforts of LTSU and Pb. Govt. to providing them flexible approach in skilling their present work force and shared their valuable requirements about industries and workforce regarding theory components and skill component to be skilled in futures also.

Multi Skill Development Centre (MSDC) Hoshiarpur set up by Govt of Punjab is being given to RERT to run skill development programs in Hoshiarpur as per the requirement of the industry needs. During Industry meet, delegates from the industry requested to commence courses in the sectors such as textiles, food processing, automobile, plywood etc. so as to provide skilled work force, ready to be deployed by industry. Participating industry also ensured to invest in latest technology at MSDC, Hoshiarpur for which the courses are expected to start by August 2022 to train around 1000 students. Mr. Arun Kumar GM, DIC Hoshiarpur and Senior Official from leading industries participated in the event.
