SUSPECTED ROCKET-PROPELLED GRENADE FIRED ON POLICE STATION IN PUNJAB

Punjab (The Stellar News) Saksham Kalia: On Saturday, a police station in Punjab’s border district of Taran Taran was attacked with a suspected Rocket-propelled grenade early morning. The Sarhali Police station on the Amritsar-Bathinda highway came under attack around 1 am, officials said, adding that there was minor damage to the building.

The suspected rocket-grenade first hits the grills of police station and then hits the Sanjh Kehdra centre. While no casualty has been reported in the attack.

“Preliminary investigation reveals that around 11.22 pm last night, a grenade was fired from highway using RPG. It hit suvidha centre of Sarhali PS. FIR registered under UAPA. Forensic team here. Army squad is here too. We will investigate this technically and forensically, all clues from the scene of the crime are being collected so that we reconstruct what happened. We are recovering the launcher,” said Punjab top cop Gaurav Yadav, according to ANI.

Village sarhali is the native place of Khalistani terrorist Harwinder Singh Rinda who suspectedly recently died in Pakistan.
