Punjab (The Stellar News) Saksham : On Monday, during budget session Punjab Finance Minister Manpreet Singh Badal made some big announcements. After facing chaos from various opposition parties about the promises made by congress government during elections. Budget of Rs 1,68,015crores announced by Finance Minister of Punjab. Manpreet Badal made promises to various sectors of state. He announced that, monthly pension of all freedom fighters will be increased from 7,500 to 9,400. He also promised that, freedom fighters and their children, grandsons will be exempted from paying toll tax on state highways. They will get benefits after getting cards issued by state Government.
He announced that the pensions of old age pensioners will be doubled from Rs 750 to Rs1500. Badal also announced the enhancement of assistance from Rs21,000 to Rs51,000 under Aashirwad scheme. Government also promised to waive Rs1,186crore loan money of 1.13lakh farmer and Rs526crore loan amount of landless farmers in next phase. Badal gifts a package of free bus travel in government buses for women and Govt. Colleges students. He announced this on the occasion of women’s day. Prize money for Punjab Rattan winners is increased from Rs 10lakhs to Rs 20lakhs. Some main announcements involved in 2021 budget session are building a tertiary cancer care hospital and wrestling academy in Hoshiarpur, museum in Kapurthala and launched Kisan Khushal Punjab scheme. In this budget session Government focused to give something to every sector of Punjab. This may be to tempt all sectors for upcoming elections.
Government announces various things in last budget session but due to Covid-19 many of them were not accomplished by government. Now in this budget session Government announced various schemes and projects. After this budget Punjab CM and many congress leaders declared that it is best budget ever in Punjab for betterment of State. But many opposition parties declared it just a lollipop for State.
