Block Diwas: DDC Rajouri listens to public grievances at Koteranka

J&K/Rajouri (The Stellar News),Anil Bhardwaj: In its endeavours to redress the public grievances at their doorsteps, the District Administration Rajouri Wednesday organised a Block Diwas at Koteranka which was presided over by the District Development Commissioner Rajouri, Rajesh K Shavan. Among the others, SSP, Chandan Kohli; ADC Koteranka, Surinder Mohan Sharma; CPO, Mohammad Khurshid; SE Jal Shakti, SR Shukla; SE PWD, Shahid Latief; GM DIC, Manzoor Hussain; PO ICDS, Kartar Singh; CEO, Gulzar Hussain; ACD, Sushil Khajuria; Executive Engineers of Jal Shakti, PWD, PMGSY, PDD besides other district and sectoral officers were present on the occasion.

BDC Chairperson Budhal Old-A, Javed Iqbal Chowdhury; Sarpanchs, Panchs and people in large numbers from all walks of life participated in the event. The public in large numbers from Kha, Jamola, Sawari, Kanthol, Sadda, Tali, Mashloor, Kotegalian, Sekhogan, Nairkassi, Khuidhera and other adjoining areas participated in the Block Diwas and projected several issues and demands including augmentation of water and power supply, macadamization and repair and renovation of roads, better health care services besides other related issues were raised during the programme. Specific issues which were raised during the programme include sanctioning of a KV School and a JK Bank branch at Jamola, special recruitment drive in local police and other paramilitary forces for Gujjar and Bakerwal community, sanctioning of a fire and emergency stations at Kha Jamola, sanctioning of PHC at Mashloor, up-gradation of Middle school at Kha and primary school at Mohra Mashloor, borewell at Khuidhera.

Other issues include the shortage of staff at PHC at Najeri, Nairkassi and HS Najeri, sanctioning of an animal and sheep husbandry centre at Nairkassi, construction of road from Jamola Dhera to HS Najeri and road from HS Najeri to Buimorh, sanctioning of an HSS, post office and PHC at Kha, lack of toilet facility at Bustand at Koteranka, exaggerated electricity bills, shortage of water pipes etc. The public also demanded construction of a Community Hall and erection of a BSNL tower at Kha, construction of a sanitary complex at Jamola-A, the establishment of a police station at Koteranka, lack of road connectivity to Jamola Upper-B, construction of road from Kandi to Jamola Upper-A, sanctioning of Anganwadi centres in all the wards of the block etc. Other issues include the construction of road from Buimorh to Jamola-B, up-gradation of primary school Damore to High School, construction of road from Maruta to Mashloor, road from Dalhori to Kanthol, sanctioning of a receiving station between Koteranka and Jamola, door to door survey for the cent per cent coverage of the beneficiaries under marriage assistance scheme were also raised during the programme.

Some more issues raised during the programme up-gradation of CHC Koteranka to Subdistrict hospital, construction of road from Guriangala to Tali, Sainik school at Kha, construction of road from Charotachapper to Maruta, the road from Khairiangali to Kanthol, blacktopping of the road from Maruta to Marotgali, construction of building for primary school Sonigala, shortage of staff at PHC Kanthol, sanctioning of a water supply scheme at Kolian, repair and renovation of panchayat Ghar at Kha besides other issues and demands were also projected in the Block Diwas. While speaking on the occasion, the DDC a patient hearing to all the issues and demands projected on the occasion and said that the District Administration Rajouri is committed to providing all the basic facilities to the common masses at their doorsteps and all possible efforts are being made in this regard.

DDC said that the purpose of holding such public interaction camps is to take stock of the public grievances at their doorsteps so that they can be redressed in a better manner. DDC also said that for the overall monitoring of the functioning of the schools in the district, the District Administration has developed an app R-SIS(Rajouri School Information System) and the app will be launched shortly. DDC said that the Government has launched several welfare schemes for the general public and urged upon the PRIs to aware the public of these schemes in gramsabhas and motivate them to avail themselves of the benefits of the same. He also advised the public to get themselves registered under the SEHAT scheme to avail the necessary benefits under the said scheme.

DDC also informed that for the proper implementation of the various Government schemes on the ground level and proper bridging between the Administration and the public, the District Administration Rajouri has launched the Lokmitra initiative and the selected Government employees are working as eyes and ears of the Government besides the DDC that the facility of landline number ‘01962264544’ has also been kept available for the public where they can call and get their grievances registered.DDC informed that the district administration has set a target of constructing 1000 Kulhs in one month besides he asked the public to identify the place where Kulhs can be constructed so that there is no shortage of water for irrigation purpose. DDC also informed that the District Rajouri has been identified as a dairy district at the National level and asked the public to co-operate with the district administration in promoting the milk and milk products in the district to make the district an export hub in the identified products.

DDC also urged the public to get themselves vaccinated under the COVID19 Vaccination drive to remain safe from the deadly Coronavirus. DDC informed that the District Administration has decided to promote jute bags to avoid the usage of polythene and other single-use plastic in the district and urged upon the women to constitute their self Help groups to manufacture the jute bags and other green alternatives to single-use plastic to make the district clean and green.DDC said that a free medical check-up for the specially-abled persons shall be organised on 24th March and urged upon the PRIs to ensure maximum participation of the public in the camp. Regarding the issue of the exaggerated electricity bills, the DDC directed ADC Koteranka to initiate an inquiry in this regard with the help of the Lokmitra concerned and submit the report at the earliest so that the issue can be redressed within the shortest possible time.

About the issue of the road connectivity, the DDC sought a detailed report from the concerned executive engineer from PMGSY about the action being taken in this regard who in turn informed that the proposal for the up-gradation of several roads under the PMGSY-III phase has been sent to the concerned authorities for necessary action at their end and a comprehensive survey has been conducted for the construction of new roads under PMGSY-IV phase in the rural areas of the block.DDC also directed the Executive Engineer PWD to speed up the work on the roads being executed in the block to provide necessary benefits to the general public. Similarly, the DDC passed necessary instructions to the concerned officers of different departments for the time-bound redressal of the grievances about their departments.
