Hoshairpur (The Stellar News) Saksham Kalia: Amid the unstoppable work and precautions taken by Hoshiarpur Municipal Corporation, Hoshiarpur achieves 1st position with 403 Dengue cases. Hospitals are bursting with Dengue patients, health infrastructure is under pressure in Hoshiarpur. The main reason of the spread of dengue is, dilapidated roads with deep potholes are allowing rain water to stay for long time, resulting in spread of dengue.
The garbage management in Hoshiarpur is too poor that you can spot heaps of garbage on the side of roads, another reason for the spread of decease. According to official figures, about 2,000 confirmed cases of dengue were detected in all districts of the state till Friday. Hoshiarpur has reported the highest number of cases at 403, followed by Amritsar (384), Muktsar (328) and Bathinda (250) districts.
Most of the cases are reported in last three weeks, health officials reported. When The Stellar News reached Hoshiarpur Mayor Surinder Kumar, “he said they are taking measures to control the decease but the people carelessness is also a point of concern for region. As residents are not regularly changing water of flowerpots and other things, which let dengue to spread”.
