In a tweet, U.S. Ambassador-at-Large for IRF Rashad Hussain said, “Religious freedom includes the ability to choose one’s religious attire. The Indian state of Karnataka should not determine permissibility of religious clothing. Hijab bans in schools violate religious freedom and stigmatize and marginalize women and girls.”

Recently a Karnataka based college has restricted Muslim girls to enter in college with Hijabs. But later on made a separate class for muslim girls and allowed them with Hijabs. After that Hindu boys and girls protested against allowing Muslim girls with Hijabs.

This has raged a discussion in the whole country and six Muslim students went to high court. High court asked students to avoid wearing Hijabs and saffron in the college premises.

Now, US foreign ambassador speaks about this and called it a violation of religious freedom.
