J&K/Rajouri (The Stellar News), Anil Bhardwaj: A man wanted in a case of rape of a specially abled girl has been arrested by police and put behind bars. Accused have been identified as Sham Sunder son of Jeet Kumar resident of Laroka, Tehsil Qila Darhal in Rajouri district.On 3rd of June, a case in FIR 122/2022 under sections 376/506 IPC, 4/6 POCSO Act was registered in police station Nowshera after a formal complaint was received from a family of a village falling under the jurisdiction of Bhawani police post of Nowshera police station after rape of a specially abled girl. Police said that after registration of case, investigation was set into motion but accused fled and was evading his arrest.
Looking gravity of the case, a special team comprising of SHO Nowshera Rajesh Jasrotia and Incharge PP Bhawani, PSI Rajat Sharma was framed which started manhunt of the accused and multiple raids were conducted in areas of Rajouri district and in Jammu also.The police team succedded in arrest of accused during a raid at Bari Brahmana near Jammu. Police said that accused wanted in this heinous crime has been put behind bars and further legal formalities are going on. Rajouri police said that the case was taken on priority and special squad worked hard to nab the accused. Police also informed that after formalities professional investigation of this case shall be challaned for judicial determination and exemplary punishment to the accused.
