Sridevi’s dead body was expected to arrive yesterday evening, but there may be further delay in bringing the dead body to India. Forensic and postmortem report have come, but many obstacles are being brought out due to local laws.
Dubai police has handed the matter to the Dubai Public Prosecution. According to the Dubai rules, in the case of Accidental Death, post mortem and forensic reports are referred to public prosecution. In such a case, if there is any possibility of any doubt or conspiracy regarding death, further investigation can be ordered. If everything remains normal, the government lawyer can order the dead body to be handed over to the family. The Dubai police told Indian officials that without the permission of the public prosecutor the body cannot be handed over to the family.
The Dubai police has already give the clearances in this case. According to the information, the body of Sridevi is expected to arrive Tuesday afternoon.
On the other hand, Indian Ambassador in Dubai, Navdeep Suri said that the Indian Embassy is in touch with Dubai’s local authority regarding this case. He said that efforts are being made to send Sridevi’s body to India as soon as possible.
According to the forensic report, content of alcohol has been found in the body of sridevi. Dubai police has reported that Sridevi fell unconscious in the bathtub of hotel. she died due to drowning.
