Punjab : During the night when the passangers were peacefully sleeping, their lives were shattered when the train they were travelling on (Jammu Tawi-Pune Jhelum Express) derailed. The accident happened at 03:10 AM today between Phillor and Ladowal stations of Jallandhar-Ludhiana section of Ferozpur Division of Northern Railway. The accident caused derailed 10 Coaches of the train. As per the official sources luckily only three passengers were hurt in the incident who have been provided with necessary medical treatment.The local administration have been very supportive and are providing the necessary arrangment. The adminstration reacted promplty by sending the Medical Van and Accident Relief Train at the derailment site. The General Manager Northern Railway Sh. A.K. Puthia alongwith Divisional Railway Manager, Ferozpur with team of senior officers have already reached at site. The front intact portion of 11078 Jhelum Express i.e. Engine and 08 Coaches has been moved to the next station after accommodating all the passengers for arranging their onward journey. The rear 06 unaffected Coaches have been moved to Phillor. Buses are also being arranged for passengers willing to continue their journey by bus.
Due to derailment, four trains have been cancelled which are :-

12054 Amritsar-Haridwar Janshatabdi and
12242 Amritsar-Chandigarh Superfast .
