Guwahati (The Stellar News) Nava Thakuria: Assam chief minister Sarbananda Sonowal, while addressing the Youth Leadership Convention, organized by Pragya Foundation to mark the birth anniversary of Swami Vivekananda at Shankardev Kalakshetra in the city, urged the youth to extend dedicated efforts to build a stronger and vibrant India. “Swami Vivekananda glorified the 5000 years old civilization and culture of the country globally at the world parliament of religions at Chicago in the United States of America in 1893,” said Sonowal adding that inspired by the philosophy of Vivekananda, Prime Minister Narendra Modi envisioned for the youth led development in India. In a bid to empower the youth and making them skilled, the Centre had
undertaken a number of schemes like Digital India, Skill India, Make-In-India etc, added Sonowal. Stating the youth as a remarkable force for social transformation, Sonowal observed that the youth of Assam possess tremendous potential and possibilities for taking the State on a higher growth trajectory.
He called upon the youth to put sincere and committed efforts for nation building and help India getting a more distinct identity in the world. He also spoke about the contributions of Dr Shyama Prasad Mukerjee in the process of nation building and urged the youth to draw inspiration from his ideology of ek vidhan, ek nishan, ek pradhan. Advocating for more interaction and greater exchange of art, culture, history and traditions among the people of different parts of India for strengthening unity, harmony and brotherhood, Sonowal also underlined PM Modi’s call for collective efforts to make a stronger nation.
He also appreciated noted social worker Basistha Bujarbaruah and Pragya Foundation for their initiative to promote nationalism among youth and to engage them in the nation building exercise. The function was also graced by State finance, education, health etc ministerHimanta Biswa Sarma along with CM’s legal adviser Shantanu Bharali, State tourism orporation chairman Jayanta Malla Baruah, Pragya Foundation convenor Pranjal Saikia, Jyoti Chitraban film society chairman Pabitra Margherita, Assam Publication Board secretary Pramod Kalita, Shrimanta Shankardev Kalakshetra secretary Sudarshan Thakur, singer Jitul Sonowal, actor Gayatri Mahanta with others.
