Delhi (The Stellar News) Saksham Kalia: On Wednesday, United States of America said that they are going to send supplies of worth $100 million to India for fighting against the raging covid-19 pandemic.
On Thursday, the first consignment will reach India with one million instant tests and 1lakh N95 masks for frontline health workers, the US agency for international development said. These instant tests are capable of detecting covid-19 in just 15minutes.
The United States said that all upcoming consignments of worth $100 million which includes 1,000 oxygen refillable oxygen cylinders and 1,700 oxygen concentrators that will produce oxygen for patients from air.
US also redirected its own supply of raw material for Astrazeneca vaccine to India which will allow India to produce 20 million vaccine doses of covid-19. This statement came just after commitment made by US president last week that US will step up assistance to the emerging US ally.
“Just as India sent assistance to the United States when our hospitals were strained early in the pandemic, the United States is determined to help India in its time of need,” the White House said in a fact sheet outlining the aid.
India has crossed 2,00,000 deaths tally and the cases of covid-19 are hiking every day. So due to this India was facing shortages in oxygen supply and vaccines. This will help India to reach demand of oxygen and vaccines.
