Delhi (The Stellar News) Saksham Kalia: With the start of Monday, good news came from Tokyo Olympics 2020 when Indian Women hockey team beat three time Olympic gold medalist Australia with 1-0. Australian team is one among the strong contenders for semi-finals but Team India with its team work and Hard work made it possible and defeated World’s top hockey team Australia.
The special thing about this match was that each and every contingent played and Coaches was the Star of Match. As women hockey team was participating 2nd time in Olympics, first time they played in 2016 and reached to group level tournament but this time team India reached two levels up i.e. semi-finals which is truly a milestone for Indian women hockey.
The one and only goal scored by India is scored by Gurjit Kaur in 22nd minute of match from Penalty corner. But a single goal cannot let you in the winning side, so the equal credit goes to defense of team India which didn’t let Australian team to make goals out of several penalty corners.
After the win, team India hockey coach said that, “this is Chak de India in reality”.
