MD KPDCL convenes meeting of South and Central Circles to review Power Scenario

Srinagar: ( The Stellar News), Report: Anil Bhardwaj: Managing Director Kashmir Power Discom Mr Mohammad Aijaz Asad convened a meeting today the 22nd of August 2020 in the Conference hall of PDD complex, to review power scenario of South and Central Kashmir. The meeting was attended by Chief Engineer, Distribution, Chief Engineer, P&P, Superintending Engineers of O&M Circles of South Bijbehara, Puwlama, and 2nd Srinagar and all the Executive Engineers of these circles.

At the outset, review of Revenue collection took place and figures of the revenue collection during the current financial year were compared with the last year’s collection figures. Managing Director instructed all the Executive Engineers to amplify their efforts in recovering power dues so as to meet the shortfall in revenue due to Covid 19 for achieving the annual revenue targets. Furthermore Managing Director impressed upon all the Superintending Engineers for inspections and were also directed to submit inspection reports by 11:00 AM on daily basis. After deliberation on the complaints/grievances received from the consumers Managing Director directed all the Superintending Engineer/Executive Engineers to attend to consumer grievances on top priority.

₹840.17 Lacs released for construction of Receiving Stations/other works in South Kashmir

The proposals in respect of replacement of barbed wire/undersized conductor/wooden poles, received from various divisions were also discussed and after threadbare deliberations on the proposals, all the divisional heads were advised to revisit and fine-tune the DPRs incorporating the observation points raised by the chair and submit the same by 24.08.2020.

After discussion over the urgent infrastructure required in South Kashmir ₹840.17 Lacs were released by the Managing Director for creation of new Receiving stations at Shaar Pampore,kanipora Shopian,kawarigam ,Redwani Bala including construction of Kulgam-Yaripora 33 kv line, Establishment of workshop for repair of transformers at kulgam and Augmentation of Receiving station Nillow from 2×6.3 MVA to 2×10 MVA.

Managing Director instructed the Divisions of Distribution wing of KPDCL to take over the completed 13 IPDS towns & 03 Receiving Stations following due procedure given in the contract clause & after ascertaining proper SLDs and inventory to be made available by Projects Wing of KPDCL.

In the end, Managing Director gave instructions for strict enforcement of safety protocols / measures during execution of works to avoid any injury/ loss of precious lives. He directed Executive Engineers to conduct surprise inspections during power shutdowns (planned or emergency) to oversee the implementation of safety protocols and take punitive action against staff violating the existing SOPs
