WEST BENGAL AND ASSAM ELECTIONS: 79.8% VOTING IN BENGAL AND 72.1% IN ASSAM TILL 5PM

Assam (The Stellar News), Saksham: some regions of West Bengal and Assam witnessed election polls. From 27th march, elections were started in both states as per orders of Election Commission of India. In Assam elections will be conducted in 3 multiple phases and in west Bengal it is in 8 phases.

So, in 1st phase of elections in both states, 79.8% of eligible voters of west Bengal and 72.1 of voters from Assam voted at their respective polling booths. Today, elections were conducted in 30 seats out of 294 constituencies of West Bengal and while in Assam it is 47 seats out of 126.

In 1st phase of west Bengal some stray incidents of violence were reported, even as the overall position was peaceful. Younger brother of BJP leader Suvendu Adhikari was allegedly attacked by some supporters of Trinamool Congress (TMC), alleged by BJP. His car was thrashed and his driver was injured in attack by TMC supporters.

BJP is a strong contender in both West Bengal and Assam elections. In Assam BJP is fighting election and hoping to win elections second time consequently with the face of Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal.

Weather in west Bengal BJP has face to face fight with present Chief Minister of West Bengal Mamta Banerjee. Both parties has strong vote base in elections of West Bengal.

Other rest phases in Assam will be conduct on 1st April and 6th April. While in West Bengal it is on 1st April, 6th April, 10th April, 17th April, 22nd April, 26th April and 29th April.
