Delhi (The Stellar News), Saksham Kalia: It’s about a Year has been crossed when corona virus has hit the borders of India. But country is still looking towards some common problems from which accurate testing is one of a common problem. Country doesn’t have any accurate testing option.
In India there are two widely used options for testing covid-19. First is RT-PCR (Reverse Transcription–Polymerase Reaction chain) and other is Rapid Antigen Test. From last various months both these tests are not giving accurate reports. There are many cases when people were found positive in RT-PCR test and when they gave Rapid test they found negative. This kind of confusion has resulted in deaths of various people.
Recently a Senior Journalist Rohit Sardana has gone through the same confusion before his death. He tested negative in rapid antigen test but found positive in RT-PCR test. If he had previously knew about his covid-19 infection than may be he would be there with us.
Challenges of this confusion-
First challenge seen in various hospitals was that some patents having symptoms of covid-19 has gone through test but the report was showing negative result. Their oxygen level was decreasing. When they requested to hospitals for providing beds they got refusal because they don’t have Covid positive reports. As hospitals are also feeling helpless just because administration has cleared that only Covid positive patients can be admitted in Covid reserved wards.
2nd challenge is that some people feel free when they got negative report. They travel and interact with others despite of having some mild symptoms. They rely on covid report and these people become the reason of transmission of virus. These people are unidentified virus holders who don’t get any treatment and isolation so became virus transmitters.
Third reason is that as some people don’t get accurate results from tests so for some days they don’t feel any kind of symptoms. But after some days the oxygen level of people started reducing immediately. This led to the death of people.
