Delhi (The Stellar News) Saksham Kalia: In last few months second wave of corona virus swept the health infrastructure of the country and third wave is suspected to be more dangerous. According to experts the third wave could affect the health of kids and new cases of covid-19 among children emphasis the claims of scientists.
In a recent report about 9,900 kids were found infected in Ahmednagar, district of Maharashtra. As per the District collector Rajendra Bhosle, in the month of May 9,928 children were found infected but the situation wasn’t that worsened. This was because 95% among infected children were asymptomatic.
He also informed media that, from 9,928 infected children, 6,700 were between 11 to 18 age, 3100 were between 1 to 10 age group and the remaining belongs to less than 1 age group.
According to state health surveillance officer Pradeep Awate, other districts in Maharashtra are also reporting a high number of Covid-19 cases in children.
“We are only vaccinating people above the age of 18 and so for coming months, those under the age of 18 are vulnerable to Covid-19…but we need to understand that overall the percentage of kids testing positive is same, nothing has changed,” he said.
“As the 95 percent of children among infected were asymptomatic, there is nothing to worry. However, giving attention to third wave that’s become paramount to take utmost care of children”, he added.
