J&K/Rajouri (The Stellar News), Anil Bhardwaj: A volleyball tournament organised by Jammu and Kashmir police at Govt Middle School Bagnoti, Nowshera under its civic action program culminated today. A total of 8 teams from different areas of Sub division Nowshera participated in tournament. Today the final match was played between GDC Nowshera and Gagrote Club in which the the former came up as the winner of the tournament.
The closing ceremony was attended by Addl. SP Nowshera on behalf of SSP Rajouri, besides SDPO Nowshera Tausif Ahmed, SHO Nowshera Rajesh Jasrotia, ZEO Dandaser were also present. The tournament was dedicated to police martyrs and Mrs. Meena Kumari wife of martyred HC Rattan Lal was the chief guest and ZEO Dandesar Zone was guestof honor. Also the event witnessed spectators coming from different areas to cheer the teams and boost up their Morales. Later prizes were also distributed to the winner, Runners up and Chief Guest and match referees were also facilitated.
At the end in the media briefing Addl. SP Nowshera mentioned that sports is the best mean to eradicate social evils by positively channelising the energy of youth. He further stated that sports events under Civic Action Programme (CAP) were organised across the district with the same aim and appreciated the contribution of all who were instrumental in organizing this tournament.
