Petrol and diesel prices reduce by Rupees 5 and 3 per litre respectively in Maharashtra

Delhi (The Stellar News): The people in Maharashtra has gotten some relief from inflation as the Maharashtra Government reduced the VAT on fuel prices on Thursday, July 14, 2022 reducing the petrol and diesel prices by Rs. 5 and Rs. 3 respectively. CM Eknath Shinde said that after the reduction of central excise duty on fuel prices, PM Modi had urge the government of all states to reduce the taxes on fuel prices as well, though many states slashed the prices, the Maharashtra government did not take but now decided to reduce VAT and give relief to the people from the rising inflation.
CM Eknath Shinde made the announcement after the State Cabinet meeting and now after the reduction the current prices of petrol and diesel stand rupees at 111.35/litre and 97.28/litre respectively. The decision will not only provide relief from inflation to the general public but will also help in reducing transport cost of the good. Reducing VAT on fuel prices will bring a burden on Rs. 6000 crore on the State Exchequer. Shinde said they will plan the financial burden in such a way that it will not hamper the development of the projects.
