Delhi Traders are on Protest against Sealing Drive, Major markets closed

The Stellar News: Sealing drive is a kind of campaign by Municipal Corporations in order to close the illegal commercial formations. In Delhi, Traders and Businessmen are on 2-day strike to protest the sealing drive. The two days strike began on Friday in the National Capital, Delhi.

Today, all the popular markets are closed in Delhi. According to the information, over 7 lakh business establishments and 2,500 markets will remain closed in Friday and Saturday. The main markets including Connaught Place, Chandni Chowk, Karol Bagh, Sadar Bazar, Kashmiri Gate, Kamla Nagar, Chawri Bazar, Khan Market, South Extension, Greater Kailash, Defence Colony, Green Park, Huaz Khas, and many other. The Strike called by Confederation of All India Traders (CAIT).

Congress demand to the Supreme Court to stop the sealing drive. Delhi Congress chief Ajay Maken appeal to the Supreme court to halt this sealing drive. He also claimed that Sealing cannot be placed to the markets which are existed before 1962, even Law premits them to use their properties for commercial use without any documentary proof.
