
Hoshiarpur (The Stellar News): Karatekas of Jagmohan’s Institute of Traditional Karate performed well in The 20th Independence Cup All India Karate Championship. This prestigious championship was held at the Talkatora Indoor Stadium in New Delhi under the leadership of Shihan Bharat Sharma, President of the Karate India Organisation. More than 2,500 athletes from 70 teams representing 21 states across India participated in the championship.

Ryan Barhpagga, representing the JITK team from Jagmohan’s Institute of Traditional Karate, Hoshiarpur, won the Gold Medal after emerging victorious in all his bouts. Training under the guidance of internationally renowned Karate instructor Sensei Jagmohan Vij, Ryan defeated the Maharashtra player 6–0, the Bihar player 6–1, and the Uttar Pradesh player 6–0.
Under the leadership of Assistant Coach Aarti Kumari, team member Akshita Sharma won a Bronze Medal in the Cadet Girls’ Under-50 kg category. Similarly, Karateka Prabhnoor Goswami reached the semi-finals in the Boys Under-9, Under-30 kg category and secured a Bronze Medal. Aarush Sharma also earned a Bronze Medal in the Cadet Boys’ Under-60 kg category. Team members Onish Gupta and Gurkirat Kaur also put up strong performances, reaching the quarter-finals of their respective categories.
