
Chandigarh: Justice Jora Singh Commission submitted its report to the Punjab Government here on Thursday. Justice Jora Singh himself submitted the report in the office of the Chief Secretary, Punjab . The report was handed over to Special Secretary (Protocol) Rajiv Prashar who handed over the report to the CS.
CS Punjab Mr Sarvesh Kaushal when contacted confirmed the receipt of the report . Mr Kaushal told babushahi.com that he received the report in a sealed cover after 7 PM in the evening and had not gone through the report till late evening.
It may be recalled that CM Punjab Parkash Singh Badal ordered judicial probe to inquire into the sacrilege incident sof Guru Granth Sahib in Bargari (Faridkot) and aftermath. A Commission under the chairmanship of Justice Jora Singh ( Rtd ) was set up by Badal govt on October 15,2015. The commission was also mandated to inquire into the firing in Kotkapura and Behbal Kalan in which two Sikh protesters were killed.

The Bargari sacrilege occurred on the intervening night of October 11 and 12, 2015. The incident led to violent protests and blockades across Punjab including Faridkot, Sangrur, Ludhiana, Amritsar and other cities and villages.
As many as 112 randomly torn “angs” (pages) of the Guru Granth Sahib, which were strewn across Bargari village lanes, were recovered by the locals on October 12 morning. These 112 pages were duly accounted for “thrice and cleaned” and documented by the Bargari gurdwara management and the Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee (SGPC).
