Chandigarh: Punjab Government has hiked the Bus fares in the state by 6 paisa per km from July 1. The increase is uniform for all types of buses.

When contacted Mr. Winnerjit Singh , Vice -Chairman of the PRTC confirmed the hike. He said that the increase in the bus fares was necessitated due to hike in the diesel prices .
Interestingly , the transport department had issued the notification on June 28 , 2016 but it has not been uploaded on the website of the Transport Department till 9 am today .There was no public announcement by the department till today.
