Directs officials to keep vigil over the situation to be able to deal with the second wave efficiently

Jalandhar (The Stellar News): Keeping in view the second wave of Covid-19 infections throughout the world, Additional Deputy Commissioner (General) Jasbir Singh has directed the health teams not to be complacent about the flattening virus curve and continue with  the intensive sampling to check the virus spread in the district.

Presiding over a meeting with the health officials, ADC directed all the officials and members of the sampling teams to maintain their sampling so that the maximum people could be screened daily.

Singh said that no doubt the Covid-19 curve in the state is flattening right now, however, we can’t be complacent about it as many countries in the world have already witnessed a second wave of the virus.

He further called upon people to come forward for the testing and play a proactive role in this mammoth exercise to check the virus spread in the district adding he laid thrust on the need for contact tracing and home isolation of the positive patients.

ADC said that the only way to contain the virus spread was to screen maximum people and separate the positive patients from the normal people to protect them from virus spread.

Meanwhile, the additional deputy commissioner listened to the problem of the filed sampling teams and issued on spot directions to concerned SDMs to resolve issues being faced by them in the field.

ADC reiterated that district administration was fully equipped with the resources and the manpower to combat Covid-19, and no stone would be left unturned for this noble cause besides soliciting people’s support to win over this ongoing battle against the pandemic.

He appealed to people not to be complacent about the pandemic and follow all safety precautions that include wearing masks, washing hands, and maintaining social distancing.

Civil Surgeon Dr. Gurinder Kaur Chawla, Assistant Civil Surgeon Dr. Gurmeet Kaur Duggal, and others were present.
