CM Sonowal promises land for martyr’s memorial

Guwahati (The Stellar News): Assam chief minister Sarbananda Sonowal, while meeting representatives of Sadou Asom Swahid NirjatitaPoriyal Parishad and Sadou Asom Jatiya Swahid Samanwayrakhi Parishad at Janata Bhawan in the city recently promised for a piece of land for their activities. Urging both the organisations to jointly work for the benefit of the martyrs’ families, Sonowal directed the responsible government officer to take steps for allotting two bigha land in the city for the organizations.

He also assured Rs 50 lakh for construction of their office. Instructing State home department officials to find meaningful employment opportunities for the family members of martyrs and also others who faced oppression during the historic  Assam Movement (1979 to 1985), Sonowal stated that the government was making sincere efforts to preserve the legacy of those martyrs. Earlier, taking a stock of the existing vacancies in different departments under Assam government, Sonowal ordered the concerned department  heads   to  fill   up the vacancies on a mission mode.

Chairing a high-level meeting recently Sonowal asked the departments to take the initiative for also helping the aspiring youths to get rightful vocations. Commenting on efforts to put in place an effective, responsive and transparent administration, Sonowal promised to further strengthen the accountability of public delivery systems. He also said that in view of Dispur’s decision  all aspiring youths of Assam would get rightful vocations in a very transparent & accountable manner.
