He also holds a record in Javelin’s throw with 62.15m and is also the recipient for the Padma shri, the first Para-athlete to get the honour. What makes the most interesting is that he did this with a single hand as a in a drastic accident when he was just 8 years old he lost his arm.

But the spirit of Devendra made possible that he won two medals in Paralympics. When reporters asked Devendra about the reason of his motivation, he said that, “he used to think that he saw many people who cannot have both arms or both legs but god at least gifted him one arm. So why can’t he achieve his goals with a single hand”.

And now, Devendra is going to Participate in this year Tokyo Paralympics and will represent India under Javelin Throw category. Devendra is very confident for gold medal and will try to win his third Paralympics medal. Let’s hope for the best that India will win one more medal in Paralympics.
