“WE HAVE RIGHT TO RAISE VOICE OF MUSLIMS IN KASHMIR”: TALIBAN

Delhi (The Stellar News) Saksham Kalia: In a contrary statement by a Taliban spokesperson Shaheen, he stated that the Taliban being an Islamist organization have right to talk about Muslims all over the world, which may includes Muslims of Kashmir. His statement contradicts the previous statement made by a senior Taliban official that Taliban will not interfere into the internal matters of Pakistan and India as they want to maintain very good relations with its neighbors.

He quoted that, “We have this right, being Muslims, to raise our voice for Muslims in Kashmir, India, and any other country,” Taliban spokesperson Suhail Shaheen, according to Geo News. “We will raise our voice and say that Muslims are your own people, your own citizens. They are entitled to equal rights under your laws,” Shaheen told in an interview with BBC Urdu, Geo News reported.

While the external affairs ministry said that, their main focus is to make sure that the land of Afganistan would not use for any terrorists activities or to give shelter to them.

Bagchi also said that it was still “very early days” to talk about any possible recognition to the Taliban. “That’s not our focus. Our focus is that Afghan soil should not be used for anti-India activities and terrorism of any kind,” Bagchi said during a weekly briefing when asked about India’s engagement with the Taliban and whether it is not a terrorist organization.
