POLLING UNDERWAY FOR ELECTING 15TH PRESIDENT OF INDIA, MURMU HAS CLEAR EDGE OF 60% VOTES

New Delhi (The Stellar News) Saksham Kalia: Indian parliament leaders are today voting to choose next President of India in Delhi. India’s central ruling party Bhartiya Janta Party has nominated Droupadi Murmu as their Presidential Candidate while the Opposition has shown their support to Yashwant Sinha as their Presidential Candidate.

All around, 4800 MP’s and MLA will cast their votes till 5 pm and results will be announced on June 21, President to take oath on June 25. PM Modi, Former PM Manmohan Singh, Uttar Pradesh CM Yogi Adityanath, Punjab CM Bhagwant Mann, Haryana CM Manohar Lal Khattar and others casted their vote.

BJP Presidential Candidate Droupadi Murmu has a clear support of BJD, YSRCP, BSP, AIADMK, TDP, JD(S), Shiromani Akali Dal, Shiv Sena and JMM. This gives a clear edge of 60% votes for Murmu over Yashwant Sinha. If elected, she will become the first woman from the tribal community to hold the country’s top constitutional post.

Irrespective of giving support to Droupadi Murmu, SAD Leader Manpreet Singh Ayali has abstained from voting in elections.
