Cabinet post offered to MLA for Rs. 100 crore, four arrested

Maharashtra (The Stellar News): When there is a power shift in Maharashtra, someone tried to take the advantage of the situation by offering ministerial posts to MLA.
The Mumbai Crime Branch arrested four members for allegedly demanding Rs. 100 crore for offering a Daund-based MLA a cabinet post. Former Rashtriya Samaj Paksha MLA, Rahul Kul filed the complaint and the Anti-Extortion cell arrested them.
According to the police, on 16 July 2022 Kul’s personal assistant, Balkrishna Thorat received a call from a man who introduced himself as Riyaz Shaikh. Riyaz said that he is from Delhi and wanted to meet Kul to discuss an offer that could be help him.
The MLA met Riyaz at a five star hotel in Nariman point where he told Kul that he was in contact with a senior politician who could arrange a cabinet berth for Rs. 100 crore. Rahul Kul pretended to negotiate and agreed to do the deal for Rs. 90 crore.
The four accused were arrested by the police and were presented in the court, where the court sent them to the police custody.
