Her destiny challenged her multiple times at every point of life, but she changed and created her own with her hardwork and courage. For President Murmu, defeating her harsh realities of poverty, illiteracy and backwardness of life was not easy as easy defeating her opponent Yashwant Sinha in Presidential elections.

Droupadi Murmu prior winning Presidential elections served as ninth Governor of Jharkhand between 2015 and 2021 and held various portfolios in the cabinet of government of Odisha.

Her early life starts from Baidaposi area of Rairangpur from Mayurbhanj district in Odisha where she born in a Santali family on June 20, 1958. Murmu is an arts graduate of Rama Devi Women’s College.

She married Shyam Charan Murmu, a banker, who died in 2014. The most challenging part of her life begins when she lost her two sons, her husband, her mother and her brother in a span of 7 years. Where she responded like a warrior and despite of losing hope of life she decided to comeback in her normal life with the help of meditation, became follower of the Brahma Kumaris.

Prior of entering into politics, she started his career as a school teacher. She worked as an assistant professor at the Shri Aurobindo integral Education and research institute, Rairangpur and Junior assistant at irrigation Department, Government of Odisha.

Murmu also acted like a wall against amendments in two bills Chhotanagpur Tenancy Act, 1908, and the Santhal Pargana Tenancy Act, 1949. These two original laws had safeguarded the rights of the tribal communities on their land. According to the existing laws the land transactions could only be done between the tribals.

The new amendments gave the tribals the right to allow the government to make commercial use of the tribal land and to take the tribal land on lease. The proposed bill amending the existing law had been approved by the Jharkhand Legislative Assembly. The bills were sent to Murmu for approval in November 2016.

But Murmu after getting memorandums and letters from local tribals made these bills to go back to state.

She showed the World, For not doing something person have many reasons but for doing it only one reason is required.
