Guest Lecture on Technological Advancement in Culinary Arts  GNA University

Phagwara (The Stellar News): GNA Centre of Excellence for Culinary Arts, School of Hospitality (SOH) GNA University organized a guest lecture on Technological Advancement in Culinary Arts. Chef Sumit Talwar,Executive Chef at Courtyard by Marriott, Amritsar was the resource person for the lecture. The objective of conducting this lecture was to make students aware of the technological advancement in culinary arts.  During the lecture, the Resource person threw light on the concept of automated cooking equipment, such as robotic arms and intelligent ovens, to prepare food. He even shared the concept of machines faster and more efficiently than humans, allowing chefs to focus on more complex tasks.

The Chef shared the technical evolution of food and cooking techniques. Apart from cooking, Chef conducted an interactive session with students where he introduced students to technological advancement and business development. Gurdeep Singh Sihra, the Chancellor expressed, “I am delighted to witness the hard endeavours that the School of Hospitality has put in organizing such innovative lectures.”

 Dr.  VK Rattan, the Vice-Chancellor, Dr. Hemant Sharma, the Pro Vice-Chancellor, Dr. Monika Hanspal, Dean Academics, Dr. Deepak Kumar, Dean SOH, Dhiraj Pathak, HOD SOH, motivated the  faculty and students to come up with  such innovative ideas to make the teaching and learning more interesting and fruitful.
