J&K/Kishtwar (The Stellar News), Anil Bhardwaj: District Police in Kishtwar are intensifying efforts against drug peddlers. Today, one notorious drug peddler, was apprehended, and approximately 60-70 grams of a cannabis-like substance were seized from his possession.
During a routine patrol by a police team from PS Kishtwar under the supervision of Dy SP Hqrs Dr. Ishan Gupta in the Pochhal Sarkoot area, officers noticed suspicious activity by an individual attempting to evade them. He was promptly apprehended by the patrol officers. Upon conducting a thorough personal search, a white polythene containing the cannabis-like substance weighing approximately 60/70gms was recovered. The accused, identified as Imran Hussain S/o Gh Nabi Giri R/o Pochhal Tehsil and District Kishtwar. Subsequently, a case was registered against him under FIR No. 148/2024 U/S 8/20 NDPS Act at PS Kishtwar.
SSP Kishtwar, Shri Abdul Qayoom-JKPS, issued a stern warning to drug syndicates, urging them to cease their illegal activities or face severe legal consequences. He also called upon the residents of Kishtwar to report any information regarding drug sales to PCR Kishtwar at 9906154100. Informants can rest assured that their identities will be kept confidential, and they will be suitably rewarded.
