Central Railways Services Interrupt: Students Protest on Tracks

Students protesting against the railway recruitment. The students who are working as apprentices in different technical workshops of Railways staged a rail roko on the Central Railway (CR) Line, demanding permanent jobs. Students stopped the trains on Mumbai’s Central Railways during the peak hours on Tuesday.

The students demanding the entire quota to be filled by the students who have passed the Railway act apprentice exam.

As per reports, police conducted Lathi charge on the students in order to manage the crowd, but the students threw stones on local trains. Many students were injured in the Lathi charge. The services between Kurla and Dadar are suspended.
