Guwahati (The Stellar News): City based journalist Dr Kumud Das was recently honoured with Sangbad Prahari award for his outstanding contributions to the field of Journalism. In a function held at Doulasaal of Nalbari locality the award was officially conferred on him by senior educationist Dr Dayananda Pathak in presence of several dignitaries.
Dr Das has worked in both print and electronic media outlets and presently associated with satellite news channel DY365. Starting his career as a correspondent to acclaimed Assamese daily Dainik Janambhumi in 2004, he later shifted to electronic media and joined in popular news channel NewsLive. For some time he worked in PratidinTime and AssamTalks too.
He also penned several books like Jiwanok Bhal Paboloi Siku Ahok, Ponakon, Asantimukto Jiwan Katao Ahok, Jiwan Enekoiye, Sha, Nedekha Nadir Sipare etc. Regularly attending seminars and workshops as resource persons, Das continues to visit various media institutes as a guest faculty. Earlier, he also won Laadli Media Awards for gender sensitivity in 2011.
