Assam (The Stellar News) Saksham Kalia: On September 23, Assam police has done a eviction drive in Sipajhar, Darrang District to pull out about 800 families from the Government property illegally captured by them. In a protest which was erupted by the 800 families resulted in the clash between the Police and civilians, in which 2 people were also died, sources said. These families were living there for decades and was not ready for rehabilitation.
In a viral video, from the incident place, a policeman was seen firing on an unseen target and a man in a vest and having stick in his hand was seen running to hit policemen. In another part of clip, it shows that police personnel hitting that person hard and that person also seen unconscious after thrashed by police. The photographer, later identified as bijoy Bonia, is seen jumping on the body of the protester and assaulting him, even as he lays unconscious, presumably dead, bleeding from a wound in chest.
The photographer has been arrested and taken into a custody by the Assam CID.
