Delhi (The Stellar News), Pulkit Sood: MHA cancels FCRA license of Wangchuk’s NGO: The Union Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) cancelled the FCRA license of Sonam Wangchuk’s organization on September 25, 2025. This was done the very next day after four people were killed in police firing in Leh during a violent protest for statehood which, the MHA said, was “encouraged” by Wangchuk’s provocative statements. The CBI in July had initiated a preliminary inquiry into alleged violations of the Foreign Contribution (Regulation) Act by Wangchuk’s NGO, Students Educational and Cultural Movement of Ladakh. This was done because it was seen that the funding which was coming from abroad was been used for the religious conversion of masses.

So what exactly is FCRA?
The FCRA was enacted during the Emergency in 1976 amid apprehensions that foreign powers were interfering in India’s affairs by pumping money into the country through independent organisations. These concerns were actually even older, having been expressed in Parliament as early as in 1969.
Amendment of FCRA (March 25, 2026): The Foreign Contribution (Regulation) Amendment Bill, 2026 was introduced in Lok Sabha. It creates a Designated Authority to take over, manage and dispose of assets of an organization whose FCRA registration has been cancelled, surrendered or ceased. A certificate is deemed to be ceased when the organization fails to renew it before its five-year validity period expires. The Bill proposes to increase oversight into processes relating to the handling of assets upon cancellation, surrender, or cessation of a certificate of registration, the management of defunct organizations, and other administrative and compliance processes.

You can see the Christian population in the above image:

And if you want to see near the place you live just go to the area which is backward and poor people live, where it is difficult to get even the basic facilities. Most of the conversions are done there itself. This is just a start no one knows how far these people can go. They say that they are protesting against the NEET paper leak but it has been reconducted smoothly so what else is the purpose of the protest.
Sonam Wangchuk did not have any role in the exodus of Kashmiri Pandits in 1990, nor did he rejoice or support their displacement. Why he did’t protested for the Kashmiri pandits then? Did’t he saw how the Kashmiri padits were treated at that time? Ladakh and Kashmir are next to each other and share a border. Geographically, Ladakh lies immediately to the east of the Kashmir region. So what was he doing? Even Sonam Wangchuk did not protest for the 2002 Godhra train burning when 59 Hindu pilgrims and religious volunteers returning from Ayodhya were killed in a fire inside the Sabarmati Express near the Godhra railway station in Gujarat. Was he sleeping at that moment? Why he did’t protested for those who were killed. The so called climate activist Sonam Wangchuk did not make any major public statements or remarks specifically regarding the Pahalgam terror attack, when male faculty of the tourists were killed after asking their religion.
