Kargil (The Stellar News): In Ladakh, the first foundation day of the Khwaja Ghulam Us Sayiden Public Library was celebrated at Syed Mehdi Memorial Auditorium Hall Kargil. On this occasion CEC LAHDC Kargil Feroz Ahmad Khan was the Chief Guest and Dr Syeeda Sayiden Hamid Daughter of Khwaja Ghulam Us Sayiden and Ex Member Planning Commission, and Prof Ghulam Rasool Jan were the guest of Honour.
The Library was established by some of the Youths Associated with Imam Khomeini Memorial Trust Kargil in September 2020 during the Covid Pandemic, keeping in view the sufferings of the Youths preparing for Competitive Exams. Feroz Ahmad Khan appreciating the effort sof the Youths said that there will be developments in terms of infrastructures, roads etc but we should focus and invest in Human Resource Development and this Library is one of the source to do so.
Appreciating the efforts of IKMT in Education Sector, Feroz Ahmad Khan said that the Library should come with a proposal of requirements and LAHDC Kargil will fullfill those demands on priority basis. Dr Syeeda Sayiden Hamid thanking the Youths for dedicating this important institution in the memory of Her Father said that any help and guidance from her and her family side will be always there.
She further added that this library is a step forward towards the vision of Khwaja Ghulam Us Sayiden vision of educated India. On this occasion Chairman IKMT Sheikh Sadiq Rajayee, Former MLA Haji Asgar Ali Karbalia and a galaxy of Scholars and Students were also present.
It’s pertinent to mention here that the Library has a Membership of 1600 Members out of which 900 are girl members and has a collection of 6000 books on different topics.
