ASSEMBLY ELECTION DATES ANNOUNCED IN WEST BENGAL, ASSAM, TAMIL NADU, KERALA, PUDUCHERRY

Delhi (The Stellar News), Saksham : On Friday, Election Commission of India announced assembly poll dates in 4 states and 1 UT. Chief election commissioner of India announced in a press conference that about 18.68crores voters of 5 assemblies will be voting in elections on 2.7lakh polling booths for total 824 seats. He claimed that all polling dates were announced by considering regional festivals and CBSE Board exams. He announced that, elections will be held in multiple phases in all assembly constituencies. In Assam polls will be held in three phases, 1st phase on 27th march, 2nd phase on 1st April and 3rd phase on 6th April. While in West Bengal assembly elections will be held in 8 phases, 1st phase on 27th March, 2nd phase on 1st April, 3rd phase on 6th April, 4th phase on 10th April, 5th phase on 17th April, 6th phase on 22nd April,7thphase on 26th April and last phase on 29th April. Weather in Tamil Nadu, Kerala, Puducherry elections will be held in a single phase on 6th April.

He said that, candidates will be able to submit their nominations through online mode and voters will get extra one hour to vote on their respective booths. Terms of legislative assembly in four states is coming to an end in May and June and in Puducherry President Rule is already imposed due to the resignation of V Narayanasamy after not being able to show his party’s majority in assembly. Chief Election Commissioner Sunil Arora also added that, eventhough the vaccination process is undergoing in entire country but all health protocols will be followed during elections.
