On the occasion of ‘National Girl Child Day’ Indian Army felicitated Ms Tabassum Nusrat Ali, silver medallist under 55 Kgs cat at Asian Sikh Taekwondo Championship. A grand ceremony was organized at Army Goodwill Public School, Rajouri by 38 Fd Regt under the aegis of Ace of Spades Division of the Indian Army. The 17 yr old bagged this feat at Asian Sikh Taekwondo Championship (28 Dec 2021 – 02 Jan 2022) held at Gurgaon Haryana after overcoming opponents from all across India, Australia, Iraq, Iran, Sri Lanka, Nepal and Bangladesh.
Ms Tabassum, daughter of Hav Zulfiqar Ali (Retd ) (12 JAK LI) is a resident of Sajla, Poonch District and is the glorious athletic wonder of Army Goodwill Public School, Rajouri for last seven years. The Taekwondo queen shared her journey and the crucial role of Indian Army and her school Army Goodwill Public School, in providing her the opportunity to learn the Martial Art and excel at it. Tabassum also gives her sincere regards to the Prime Minister for ‘Beti Bachao Beti Padhao’ initiative and stresses the huge impact it has on all the girls in Poonch District.
Gold Medals at District level, Inter District level, Youth Services and Sports events and Silver Medal at National Taekwondo are the highlights of the long list of achievements of this athletic wonder kid. The teenager now aims at working harder in her sport and getting a Gold Medal in the Olympics for India. The pride of Sajla is a true inspiration for all the girls and the living embodiment of the concept of ‘Beti Se Bhavishya’
