Chandigarh (The Stellar News) Saksham Kalia: Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann in his recent video tweet announced to have issued orders to shut Zira Liquor factory with immediate effect.
Chief Minister in his video tweet said, “For the purity of Punjab’s water, air, land, and keeping in mind the human interest and after having discussions with law experts, Government have issued orders of shutting Malbros International Pvt Lmt Zira Liquor Factory with immediate effect. If anyone will break the Public laws and will exploit the environment of Punjab for his personal benefits, will not be spared.”
This comes after a long agitation of locals outside the Zira Liquor factory, claiming that the factory is making ground water polluted by dumping chemical waste in ground. Punjab and Haryana High court have already ordered an enquiry committee in the case.
