85-year-old woman allegedly committed suicide by Jumping in Sidhwan canal near Barewal bridge on Friday. The woman is identified as Sushma Gupta, a resident of Sukhmani Enclave, Ludhiana. The body was found by PAU police.

As per reports, she left her house in the morning without informing her husband. She was a patient of depression and also suffered from diabetes and high blood pressure. It is estimated that she committed suicide due to depression.
ASI Lakhwinder Masih said, the case has been registered under CRPC Section 174.
