NORTHEAST DELHI RIOTS CASE: UMAR KHALID GETS BAIL FROM DELHI HIGH COURT

Delhi (The Stellar News), Saksham: Delhi high court granted bail to Umar Khalid arrested in case of violence in Northeast Delhi.
Additional Sessions Judge Vinod Yadav granted bail and noted that, he can’t be made to ‘incarcerate in jail for infinity merely on account that others who were part of the mob have to be identified and arrested in the matter’.

Violence took place on 24 February, 2020 in northeast Delhi. A communal conflict between the supporters of citizenship law supporters and protesters happened. The situation became out of control and resulted in death of 53 people and 200 injured.

Umar Khalid was arrested last year and was in the custody of Delhi Police. Honourable judge gave bail to Umar on the condition that he must install Arogya Setu app in his phone.
